The beetle is out of the bag, Volkswagen unveils the latest update to their famous Beetle. Inspired by the original, the 2012 edition of the automobile gives way to a longer and wider design, in addition to four seats with a reclining back to accommodate more storage. VW will offer both a turbocharged TDI Clean Diesel and gas powered engines with options up to 200 hp in the top of the line model. (more…)
United Cruiser, a new bike brand was founded in 2007 by Fine Arts graduate and rally driver Helen Ramy and Renaud Poutot. Having been in charge of the exclusive distribution of famous Californian bicycle brand Electra, the French set out to represent North America and blend European technology. United Cruiser’s current lineup includes 14 cruises, 2 fixies and a folding bicycle dubbed CUBIKE.
A long and narrow steel beam infill house for artist Laurie Frick in Austin Texas by design-build firm KRDB. The main entry is activated with a subtle push into a generous hallway that doubles as gallery for the client’s art collection. The requirements were for a 1600sf one-bedroom, two-bathroom house with an office and a 700sf studio on an infill lot in Barton Heights. The previous home was moved off the site, leaving a constricted buildable area located between a Diadora Cypress at the street and a magnificent Live Oak and swimming pool to the rear.
